The
2010 Barrita Sarcochilus Open Day was held on Thursday 14th of
October and was an outstanding success. An impressive crowd of
orchid personalities came to look at, buy and chat about orchids
and a great time was had by all. It was lovely to see so many
familiar faces as well as some new ones. The day began with a
look at the Barrita breeding stock with some 150 plus plants in
full bloom displayed for all to see over a cuppa and cake. The
opening of the greenhouse saw a rush for pick of the benches and
a raffle of an extra-special 'Dragonfly' Sarcochilus plant was
won. This year, more orchids than ever were on sale including
Cymbidiums, Phalaenopsis and Oncidiums to compliment the hundreds
of Sarcochilus. Congratulations to everyone who went home with
Barrita Orchids, we hope they give you many years of pleasure
whether they be for the showbench or the garden. Planning is already
